Stainless Steel 409 Tubing is an approximately 10.5–11.75% chromium ferritic stainless steel with low carbon content and optional titanium stabilization for improved weldability and corrosion resistance. 409 has good resistance to oxidation and moderate mechanical properties, including a typical tensile strength of 380–450 MPa and yield strength of about 170 MPa.
